Dr. Khaled Shaikhi, D.M.D., M.S., B.D.S. Assistant Professor, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine

Dr. Khaled Shaikhi is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Medically Complex Patient Management within the Department of Comprehensive Care at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. With more than 25 years of clinical experience across private practice, academic institutions, and community health centers, he brings a broad and deep perspective to both patient care and dental education.

Dr. Shaikhi earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) from the University of Benghazi, Libya, in 1999. He pursued advanced specialty training at the State University of New York at Buffalo, completing a Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology in 2012 and a Master of Science in Oral Sciences in 2013.

A Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist, Dr. Shaikhi also holds fellowships in Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine. Prior to joining Tufts, he served as Chairperson of the Department of Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Diagnosis, and Radiology at the University of Benghazi from 2014 to 2016.

Today, Dr. Shaikhi divides his professional efforts between his private practice and his academic role at Tufts. He provides medical consultations for medically complex dental patients and teaches predoctoral dental students in the diagnosis and management of medically compromised cases. His dedication to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and dental education continues to shape his contributions to advancing oral health and preparing the next generation of dental professionals.
